Little Liberia, Rivercess County — Tragedy struck Little Liberia in Rivercess on Friday night at about 8:00 p.m. when a motorbike accident claimed the life of an elderly man and left two others critically injured.
The victim, identified as Bob Toby, believed to be in his 60s, was walking along the roadside with two friends when a red TVS Star motorbike, traveling from the direction of Cestos City, reportedly ran into him with great force.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the impact severely injured Mr. Toby, breaking his leg and causing multiple bodily injuries. The motorbike rider, identified only as Patrick, and his passenger, a young boy, also sustained serious injuries in the crash.
Following the accident, Mr. Toby was rushed to the St. Francis Hospital for emergency treatment. However, medical authorities pronounced him dead upon arrival. The injured rider and his passenger are currently receiving medical care at the same facility.
The Liberia National Police (LNP) have confirmed that an investigation has been launched to establish the cause of the accident and determine any possible negligence.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the Little Liberia community, with residents calling for increased road safety measures, especially during nighttime hours.
