“Evil Has Besieged Liberia,” Kemayah Slams UP

Ambassador Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah Sr., Political Leader of the Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE), has delivered a scathing critique of the Unity Party (UP) )-led administration, accusing it of neglecting the well-being of Liberians. In a fiery address during a Thanksgiving Service celebrating his recovery from a severe health challenge, Kemayah lamented what he described as the pervasive “evil” gripping the nation under the current Government’s leadership.

Speaking to a congregation at the Forky Klon Jlaleh Family Fellowship Church, Kemayah reflected on his struggles and the administration’s alleged hostility towards him during his health battle. “Imagine a Liberian citizen fighting for his life, yet the government, which is supposed to care for its people, was more concerned with undermining me over a position they had no control over,” Kemayah declared.

Kemayah credited his recovery to divine intervention, unwavering support from his family, and the steadfast encouragement of former President George Weah. “My destiny lies in God’s hands, not in the hands of this administration,” he affirmed, emphasizing his belief that his struggles serve as a lesson for Liberians to discern genuine leadership.

“We are on a divine break, as my wife always says. It’s meant for the Liberians to realize the importance of choosing the right leader. We cannot afford to make the same mistakes again,” he said.

Kemayah painted a bleak picture of Liberia’s current state, highlighting persistent issues such as poor road conditions and public safety concerns. “Our people are still suffering from bad roads, and bodies are still being found on the streets—issues they once blamed on former President Weah,” he said. “They made you believe these problems would vanish under their leadership, but the reality speaks otherwise.”

The MOVEE leader also accused the Unity Party administration of attempting to sabotage his career and destabilize his political movement. “Even while I was fighting for my life, they were fighting me over my ECOWAS appointment, a position they had no involvement in. They also tried to infiltrate MOVEE to force us out of the Coalition, but they failed,” he alleged.

Drawing parallels to biblical events, Kemayah likened Liberia’s current struggles to the 430 years the Israelites spent in Egypt and their subsequent 40 years in the wilderness. “The six years under this administration feel even longer than those biblical trials, but there is hope. There is light at the end of the tunnel,” he said, expressing optimism for the future.

Kemayah was effusive in his praise for former President Weah, whom he credited for playing a pivotal role in his recovery. He recounted how Weah frequently contacted him through calls, messages, and videos, offering unwavering support during his illness. “My family and I are deeply grateful for the love and care you have shown us. We stand with you and will remain together,” he assured the former President.

The Thanksgiving Service, attended by MOVEE executives and other dignitaries, served as a platform for Kemayah to reaffirm his commitment to the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) and its leadership under Weah.

In his closing remarks, Kemayah called on Liberians to place their hope in God and prepare for a brighter future. “Our hope is in God and the selfless leadership of former President Weah,” he concluded.
