Exiled Activist Martin Kollie Pledges 50 Bags of Cement to PUL, Praises Kanubah for Visionary Leadership

Monrovia, Liberia — In a show of support for the Press Union of Liberia (PUL), exiled activist Martin K.N. Kollie has pledged to donate 50 bags of cement to assist in the construction of the organization’s new headquarters. His statement came shortly after PUL announced its relocation to a new office and unveiled plans to build its facilities.

During the announcement, Kollie emphasized the significance of the PUL in promoting journalistic integrity and freedom of expression. “The Press is a noble and dignified institution,” he remarked. His comments highlighted the important role the PUL plays in safeguarding the rights of journalists in Liberia and fostering a robust media landscape.

Kollie, who has not met the new PUL President, acknowledged the leadership of Julius Mr. Kanubah and expressed admiration for his vision for the organization. “The new PUL President is a serious man with a vision for journalists,” he said, reflecting upon Kanubah’s recent efforts to advocate for improved conditions and support for media professionals in the country.

In his remarks, Kollie noted the importance of collective efforts in advancing journalism in Liberia and encouraged others to contribute to the PUL’s mission. His commitment of 50 bags of cement is seen as a tangible step toward supporting the construction of the new headquarters. It aims to serve as a central hub for press activities and as a symbol of the organization’s resilience and dedication to its members.

The PUL’s initiative to establish a headquarters represents a significant milestone in its ongoing efforts to strengthen the media landscape in Liberia. With Kollie’s contribution and the dedication of the new leadership, the organization aims to create a lasting impact on the country’s journalism sector.

This gesture from Kollie underscores the solidarity among activists and the media community in Liberia, emphasizing the need for continued support and resources to uphold freedom of the press and the vital role of journalists in society.
