The nominee for Chairperson of the National Elections Commission of Liberia (NEC–Liberia) is Mr. Jonathan K. Weedor.

Mr. Weedor was nominated by His Excellency, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. on 30 March 2026, pending Senate Confirmation.

He succeeds Madam Davidetta BrowneㅡLansanah, who resigned on 23 March 2026.

Mr. Weedor is a seasoned electoral administrator with extensive experience in governance and public service.

He served for more than 16 years at the National Elections Commission of Liberia (2004–2020).

Mr. Weedor holds: A Master of Arts (Honors) in Development Studies (Development Management) from the School for International Training, Vermont, USA.

A Bachelor of Science (Honors) in General Forestry from the University of Liberia.
