Fallah Says Country Comes Before Politics, Throws Weight Behind Boakai

By: Archie Boan

Deputy Speaker Thomas P. Fallah has openly declared his support for President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, saying the President’s performance during his first year in office has convinced him to put national interest above party lines.

Speaking Saturday at the Unity Party’s Homecoming and Fundraiser program in Monrovia, Hon. Fallah who was elected on the opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) ticket as Representative of District #1, Lofa County said his decision is rooted in patriotism and respect for the progress he believes the current administration is making.
Fallah told the gathering that Liberia’s well-being must outweigh political rivalry or personal ambition.

“There was a country called Liberia before party, before politics, and before all of us,” he said. “I am here to demonstrate love for country over self-interest.”

He emphasized that he and several lawmakers have observed what he called the “tremendous work” of President Boakai, prompting them to lend their support to the government’s development agenda.

The Deputy Speaker wished the President and the Unity Party success as they continue efforts aimed at improving governance, strengthening national unity, and delivering essential services.
