Families of Fatal Victims Want Fake Doctor Arrested

By: Emmanuel M. Kangar

Monrovia, Liberia–Several affected families who lost their loved ones to multiple fatal surgeries conducted by the fake doctor, Peters Geroge, are calling on the government of President Boakai to arrest and prosecute him before he escapes the country.

Prominent Liberian businessman Adonis David Menlor has joined the call. Menlor is also calling on the government to implement stricter credential verification processes in the healthcare sector following the tragic death of his wife, Abigail Mahmie Menlor, allegedly due to medical malpractice.

Speaking at a press conference on May 9, 2025, Menlor accused the fake Doctor Peter Matthew George, the former Chief Medical Officer at E&J Hospital, of conducting a cesarean section that led to fatal complications.

According to Menlor, Dr. George vanished shortly after the procedure and has not been seen since. Menlor wants justice for his wife like many other families.

The Liberia Medical and Dental Council has since revoked Dr. George’s medical license, citing the use of falsified academic credentials to obtain his position.

The exposure reportedly followed an investigative post sparked by exiled Liberian activist Martin K. N. Kollie. Menlor expressed anger and heartbreak, blaming the tragedy on institutional negligence and the failure to properly vet healthcare professionals.

He described his wife’s death as a “wake-up call” and urged authorities to enforce more rigorous monitoring and verification systems to safeguard public health.

Adding to his emotional burden, Menlor disclosed that some relatives of his late wife have accused him of engaging in ritualistic practices, a claim he firmly denied.

He emphasized that his financial success stems from legitimate business ventures and said the accusations have severely harmed both his personal life and professional reputation.

Menlor’s call for reform comes at a time of rising public concern about the qualifications of healthcare workers in Liberia and the adequacy of systems in place to ensure accountability.
