Bokon Township, Rivercess County — Bokon Township in Bearwor District, comprising ITI, Solo Village, Kola Tree, and Bokon, is experiencing one of its most frightening periods in recent time. A wave of mysterious attacks, disappearances, and a gruesome killing has left residents shocked and fearful.
Township Commissioner Emmanuel Whea disclosed that the troubling incidents began in November 2025 and have continued through the end of the year, heightening insecurity in the gold-rich but vulnerable community.
According to Commissioner Whea, the first reported case occurred on November 10, when a man identified only as Ezekiel was allegedly captured and tied by unknown masked men. He was later rescued by a local resident, Daniel, narrowly escaping what could have been a fatal ordeal.
The violence escalated on December 25, 2025 when a man named Augustine was attacked with a knife by unidentified individuals. Although he survived, the brutal assault deepened fear among residents, many of whom now avoid moving freely at night.
The situation turned deadly on December 31 with the discovery of the lifeless body of a man identified as Mitchell in the Cestos River. Authorities confirmed that his hands and feet were tied, strongly suggesting foul play and prompting renewed calls for a full-scale investigation.
In a related development, Commissioner Whea revealed that a man popularly known as Bodyman reported the disappearance of a coworker from a gold mining site. The man reportedly went to check fishing hooks and never returned, with his whereabouts still unknown.
Local authorities say security measures are being strengthened, while residents have been urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with investigators as efforts continue to bring those responsible to justice.
