Fierce Political Firestorm Erupts as Senator Moye Accuses Rep. Musa Bility of “Diabolical Lies” in China Union Funding Dispute

Monrovia, Liberia – Liberia’s political arena has again been thrown into turmoil as a bitter public clash erupts between Senator Prince K. Moye of Bong County and Representative Musa Hassan Bility. In a blistering rejoinder issued this week, Senator Moye’s office accused Rep. Bility of fabricating “diabolical lies” in what it describes as a calculated smear campaign intended to tarnish the Senator’s character.

The dispute centers on Rep. Bility’s recent allegation that Senator Moye signed a caucus resolution effectively waiving millions of dollars in Social Development Funds (SDF) that China Union is obligated to pay Bong County under its Mineral Development Agreement (MDA). Bility also previously accused Moye of failing to declare his assets.

In the sharply worded statement, signed by Chief of Staff Nuwoe Kellen, the Senator’s office described Bility’s assertions as “wild, shameless, and completely unfounded.” According to the statement, Moye “did not author, support, or sign any such document,” adding that any so-called resolution waiving China Union’s obligations would be “illegal, illegitimate, and inconsistent with the MDA.”

The Senator’s office challenged Bility to present evidence supporting his accusations, insisting that “it simply does not exist.”

Counter-Accusations: Moye Links Bility to China Union’s Operational Woes

The rejoinder goes further, leveling serious accusations—again, as claims—against Rep. Bility. According to Senator Moye’s office, Bility bears “direct responsibility” for the company’s failure to meet its financial commitments due to what the Senator’s camp describes as a “dubious and fraudulent agreement” involving the rental of China Union’s storage terminals.

The statement alleges that this agreement crippled China Union’s operations and undermined its ability to remit funds owed to Bong County. The Senator’s team further claims Bility is now flaunting small development projects funded by money he “indirectly deprived” from citizens.

As of publication, Rep. Bility has not publicly responded to the latest allegations from Senator Moye’s office. His prior claims—that Moye waived China Union’s obligations and failed to declare his assets—remain unsubstantiated publicly but sparked sharp reactions across political circles.

Moye’s office also asserts that Bility’s actions are driven by political ambitions and personal financial interests. The statement connects the current conflict to the Senate’s recent decision blocking Bility from accessing what it calls “millions in petroleum storage fees” at the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC)—a move Moye supported.

The office characterizes Bility as “a hub of deception” and calls on the public to treat any statements from him regarding Senator Moye with caution until verified.

This escalating feud underscores deepening fractures within Bong County’s political structure and risks overshadowing ongoing concerns about China Union’s long-standing failure to meet its social contribution commitments.

Senator Moye’s office vowed to pursue full payment of all funds allegedly owed since 2015, declaring: “We refuse to be distracted. We refuse to be bullied.”

With both sides trading explosive accusations and offering starkly different narratives, the controversy is likely to deepen unless independent evidence is produced to clarify the disputed waiver resolution and the circumstances surrounding China Union’s financial obligations.
