Margibi County – Cecelia Markor, an employee of Firestone Liberia and a resident of the Division 11 Nursery Camp, is appealing for assistance from the government, human rights activists, or legal representation after alleging that her womb was surgically removed without her consent or proper documentation at the Firestone Medical Center.
Markor, who says she was declared medically fit during her pre-employment health screening, claims the incident occurred after she became pregnant while working with the company.
“I was taken to the hospital after I got pregnant, and without informing me or any member of my family, they performed an operation and removed my womb,” Markor stated. “I can no longer have children. What hurts most is that Firestone refuses to provide compensation or benefits. Every month, I receive only a blank envelope.”
Markor also disclosed that her husband, a fellow employee, has undergone eight medical operations related to his work and is currently unfit to continue his duties.
The victim is now calling on relevant authorities, civil society groups, and legal experts to intervene and investigate their claims.
Firestone Liberia has yet to issue a statement in response to the allegations.
