FLUMPA TOWN, GBANAH CLAN – NIMBA COUNTY— Nimba County Electoral District #8 Representative and Nimba county Legislative Caucus Chair, Hon. Saye Sylvester MIANAH, has presented his first annual legislative report to the people of his district as he outlined key achievements, challenges, and future plans.
The report was delivered during a well attended program that highlighted his performance at the legislature including plans to introduce important legislative instruments in the House of Representatives following his appointment as chairperson on the House’s Committee of State-Owed Enterprises (SOEs).
He also detailed major initiatives and development projects implemented during his first year in office, his strategic vision for the district and advocacy efforts for benefits to affected communities by Arcelo Mental.
Rep. Mianah further disclosed specific progress made in critical sectors such as health, education, agriculture and road rehabilitation, with a special emphasis on plans to make scholarships and financial aid available to students from the district.
Youth Disruption:
Meanwhile, a group under the banner District #8 Advocates temporarily disrupted the program.
During the distribution of the program souvenir and agenda, the group led by Jessie Borpea requested that a copy of the legislative report be shared with them before the program can commence.
The lawmaker appealed for patience, stating that copies would be provided or made available after the presentation.
However, the group insisted that their demand be met before the program can proceed any further.
This standoff led to the disruption the of the event resulting in Jessie Borpea being ordered to leave the hall for the program to continue.
Following the event, Jessie Borpea claimed that his phone, money, and other valuables went missing amid allegations of physical attack.
But no visible injuries or brusises were seen on him to verify the alleged attack.
Howbeit, investigations are ongoing into the claims of his missing belongings.
