Former Minister of National Defense, Brownie Jeffrey Samukai Jr., has announced his intention to recontest the Lofa County senatorial seat in the 2029 general elections, reigniting political discussions across the county.
Speaking live on Truth FM on Thursday, January 8, 2026, Samukai said his decision is motivated by a strong desire to continue serving the people of Lofa County.
He noted that his years in public service have equipped him with the experience and insight necessary to better represent the county’s interests at the national level.
“I believe my work for Lofa is not finished, and the people deserve experienced leadership,” Samukai stated during the radio interview.
