Grand Bassa County – In an exclusive interview with Verity News, Ruben Tukue, a one-time veteran drug dealer, recently revealed that he got involved in the drug business due to the unfair practices of employers who demanded money in exchange for jobs, even when he was qualified. Tukue, who worked as a heavy-duty driver, shared his story with this paper over the weekend, shedding light on the unfortunate circumstances that led him down a dangerous path.
Tukue explained that he had struggled to secure employment in his field because he was unable to pay off potential employers to secure a job. Frustrated and feeling desperate, he eventually succumbed to the temptations of the illegal drug trade after being encouraged by a friend.
The former drug dealer confessed that he spent a staggering 17 years entrenched in the underworld of narcotics before finally deciding to turn his life around. In 2022, Tukue made the life-changing decision to resign from the drug business and leave that lifestyle behind for good.
Reflecting on his past, Tukue expressed regret for the choices he made but also highlighted the systemic issues within the job market that can drive individuals to resort to illegal activities in order to make ends meet. He called for greater awareness and accountability in addressing the root causes of such situations, emphasizing the need for more opportunities for individuals to access legitimate employment without facing unethical demands.
