Former Solicitor General Found Guilty of Traffic Violation

The Monrovia Traffic Court has found former Solicitor General of Liberia, Cllr. Syrenius Cephus, guilty of violating traffic regulations and has ordered him to pay a fine of US$50.

According to court records, Cephus was cited by Police Inspector Ben Johnson on May 10, 2025, during a traffic stop on 10th Street in Sinkor.

He was charged with operating a vehicle that had expired registration and lacked a visible rear license plate—both in violation of Liberia’s Vehicle and Traffic Law.

The vehicle, identified by license plate number A58327 and VIN KNALM4158BCA060358, was found to have no valid registration as of midnight on April 24, 2025. This infraction breaches Section 3.7 of the law.

Presiding Judge Korser Zubah ordered Cephus to pay the US$50 fine within 72 hours.

The court further ruled that Cephus must present proof of payment before his driver’s license can be reinstated.
