GOL Launches Campaign for Road and Alleyway Clearing in Cestos City

The Ministry of Public Works, through its Resettlement Environmental & Social Safeguard Division (RAP), has initiated a campaign to raise awareness and prepare Cestos City for upcoming road construction and alleyway cleaning projects.

In its push to enhance road access and upgrade community infrastructure, the government confirmed that several buildings within the Rights of Way (ROW) will need to be demolished. Both public and private properties currently obstructing road expansion will be removed as part of the initiative.

The campaign began on January 8, 2025, and will run until January 16, 2025. It informs residents about the ongoing project and its implications for properties within the designated ROW zones. The RAP Division is actively marking these properties in preparation for demolition, which is crucial for the planned road expansion and the broader goals of the Ministry’s construction policies.

The identified properties will be cleared as part of a government strategy to improve safety and provide more accessible roads for the communities in Cestos City and surrounding areas.

While the project’s primary goal is to enhance infrastructure, the Ministry emphasized its commitment to ensuring transparency and fostering cooperation with local residents throughout the process. The campaign aims to build understanding and mitigate disruptions to the affected communities.
