Grace Kpan Accuses Lawmakers of Political Opportunism

By Rufus Divine Brooks Jr.

Former Montserrado County Superintendent Grace Kpan has sharply criticized Deputy House Speaker Thomas Fallah and Montserrado Senator Saah Joseph, accusing them of engaging in what she calls “extreme political opportunism.”

Speaking on the Monday edition of the Punch Breakfast Show, Madam Kpan strongly rebuked the two lawmakers, claiming that Deputy Speaker Fallah has become known as the “chairman of Any Government in Power” — suggesting he aligns himself with whichever administration is in charge, regardless of values or policies.

She further accused both Fallah and Senator Joseph of mismanaging county development funds, which she says has contributed to Montserrado’s deteriorating condition. According to Kpan, the lawmakers have capitalized on their popularity, with many constituents wrongly viewing them as ideal leaders.

“They have ruined the county, yet continue to benefit from the goodwill of the people,” she said.

Kpan’s remarks come as the Unity Party prepares to admit new members, including defectors from other political institutions.

She cautioned the party against accepting figures like Fallah and Joseph, insisting they are not committed to serving the party or the public.

Instead, she argued, they are seeking relevance and positioning themselves for future leadership roles.
