Grand Kru LDEA Officers Face Mandatory Drug Testing in Integrity Drive

By Patrick Teah Jr

Officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) on March 4, 2026, in Grand Kru County have undergone mandatory drug testing as part of a nationwide effort aimed at strengthening integrity and accountability within the agency.

The Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Grand Kru Detachment said the exercise forms part of ongoing reforms intended to ensure that officers tasked with combating illegal drugs maintain the highest professional and ethical standards.

He stressed that the agency maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward substance abuse and any form of involvement in illicit drug activities by its personnel.

“Our officers must set the example in the fight against drugs,” the OIC said, noting that maintaining discipline within the agency is essential to building public confidence.

The drug screening exercise was conducted in collaboration with Blissful Transformations Incorporated and Africa Union Trading Company Inc., institutions specializing in substance abuse recognition, treatment, and prevention.

Abraham Fufley, a registered nurse representing Blissful Transformations Incorporated, assured officers that the testing process would remain professional, transparent, and confidential.

According to the LDEA, the initiative is intended to reinforce internal accountability while strengthening the credibility of the agency as it continues its fight against illegal drugs across Liberia.
