Henry P. Costa Calls for Dismissal of Top Boakai Officials, Citing Corruption and Poor Performance

Prominent political commentator and former host of The Costa Show, Henry P. Costa, has called for the immediate dismissal of several key officials in the administration of President Joseph N. Boakai, citing corruption, deception, and incompetence.

Speaking as a guest on One-on-One with the CEO, a live program broadcast on Spoon TV and FM on Sunday, October 26, 2025, Costa leveled serious allegations against senior members of the Unity Party-led government, including the Minister of State without Portfolio, Mrs. Mamaka Bility; Legal Advisor to the President, Cllr. Bushuben Keita; and Minister of Justice, Cllr. N. Oswald Tweh.

“For attempting to steal from the Liberian people on the 285 yellow machines and for deceiving the president, Mrs. Mamaka Bility, Minister of State without Portfolio, should be dismissed. President Boakai should dismiss her,” Costa declared.

He went on to criticize the president’s legal advisor, saying, “President Boakai’s Legal Advisor, Cllr. Bushuben Keita, has been offering bad advice to the president. President Boakai should replace him.”

Costa also accused Justice Minister Cllr. Tweh of failing to take action against corruption. “President Boakai should immediately dismiss his Justice Minister, Cllr. N. Oswald Tweh, for failing to prosecute corrupt individuals,” he asserted.

The political commentator further took aim at Minister of State nominee, Hon. Samuel Steve Stevquoah, alleging dishonesty during his confirmation hearing. “The Minister of State nominee, Hon. Samuel Steve Stevquoah, lied during his confirmation hearing that he has no knowledge about the US$10 million Foya project; he should be reprimanded,” Costa stated.

During the broadcast, Costa also reflected on his past political dynamics, likening his 2023 interactions with the former ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) to a strained romantic relationship. “My relationship with the CDC in 2023 was like an angry lover who flirts with another man to get their lover’s attention,” he said, drawing laughter from the audience.

Henry P. Costa, known for his outspoken criticism of government officials and his influential media presence, emphasized that his remarks were not driven by personal grievances but by a desire to see accountability and integrity restored in public service.

As of press time, there has been no official response from the Executive Mansion or any of the officials named in Costa’s comments but there are plan of the president taking decisive actions some named and unnamed individuals.

On late Monday evening, president Joseph Nymah Boakai fired several others and replaced them in their various areas.

Sources within the Executive Mansion have hinted Verity News of many names to follow the already relieved officials of government.
