The House of Representatives will officially open its 3rd Quarter Session on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 8:00 a.m., according to an official statement released by Speaker of the 55th Legislature, Hon. Richard Nagbe Koon.
In a message to the nation, Speaker Koon described the session’s commencement as a “significant moment” for the Legislature, emphasizing the House’s ongoing responsibility to serve the Liberian people with “honesty, dedication, and accountability.”
The day’s activities will begin with the ceremonial hoisting of the national flag, a symbolic act that the Speaker said reflects the unity and purpose of the nation. Following the flag-raising, Speaker Koon will address the full plenary, outlining key legislative priorities for the new quarter.
“Our activities will begin with the hoisting of the national flag — a proud reminder of our unity and purpose as a nation,” said Koon. “I will then address my colleagues, outlining our key priorities for this quarter and reaffirming our commitment to legislative work that truly impacts the lives of our people.”
Reaffirming his leadership goals, Speaker Koon pledged to uphold transparency and collaboration in the work of the House, noting that the focus remains on producing results that serve the best interests of Liberians.
“As Speaker, I remain dedicated to leading a House that values transparency, collaboration, and meaningful service to the Liberian people. Our work continues — for the country and people first,” he stated.
The 3rd Quarter Session is expected to focus on key national issues, including economic recovery efforts, legislative reforms, and ongoing development challenges.
