The Press Bureau of the 55th House Of Representatives has strongly refuted recent social media reports suggesting plans to remove Deputy Speaker Hon. Thomas Pangar Fallah from his position, describing the claims as false, unfounded, and misleading.
In a statement issued Monday, the Director of Press at the House of Representatives, Robert Haynes, said Deputy Speaker Fallah continues to enjoy the full confidence and support of Speaker Hon. Richard Nagbe Koon and the entire membership of the 55th Legislature.
Haynes clarified that Hon. Fallah remains actively engaged in the business of the House and is performing his legislative duties without interruption. He further noted that the Deputy Speaker recently returned from New York, where he represented Liberia as part of the government’s official delegation to the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
“Upon his return, the Deputy Speaker was warmly welcomed by Speaker Koon and his colleagues,” Haynes said. “These social media reports are nothing but deliberate attempts to cause distraction. The Deputy Speaker and members of the House remain focused as the Legislature has officially commenced its third and final quarter session for this year.”
The House Press Bureau reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to maintaining unity and upholding the trust placed in it by the Liberian people.
“The House of Representatives remains steadfast in carrying out its constitutional and fiduciary duties in an atmosphere of cooperation and dedication,” the statement emphasized.
The Bureau further urged the public and media institutions to desist from spreading unverified information aimed at undermining the smooth functioning of the Legislature.
