House Summons Mano Manufacturing CEO for Public Hearing Over Concession Compliance

The House Committee on Investment and Concessions has issued an official citation to Mr. Assad Fadel, Chief Executive Officer of Mano Manufacturing Company, to appear before a public hearing scheduled for Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The session will take place in the Floor Conference Room, House Wing of the Capitol Building.

The summons is part of the Committee’s ongoing national review of all concession agreements currently active in the Republic of Liberia. The aim of the hearing is to assess Mano Manufacturing’s compliance with the terms and objectives outlined in its agreement with the government.

According to a statement issued by the Committee, the hearing will focus on the company’s achievements, operational status, future outlook, and adherence to its contractual obligations under the concession framework.

As part of the preparation, Mr. Fadel has been requested, through the Office of the Chief Clerk, to submit key documentation no later than Monday, May 26, 2025. The requested materials include:

A copy of the company’s concession agreement;

A detailed report on total contributions to the government, including taxes and social security;

A report on public contributions through corporate social responsibility initiatives;

Documentation on total taxes waived between fiscal years 2017 and 2024;

A performance report comparing actual achievements with agreed obligations.

Committee Chairman Hon. Foday E. Fahnbulleh emphasized the Committee’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and fair enforcement of Liberia’s investment and concession laws. He reaffirmed that the hearing is part of a broader national effort to ensure that all concessionaires are fulfilling their responsibilities to both the Liberian government and its citizens.
