The House of Representatives has rescheduled the management and aggrieved workers of the Ministry of Transport to appear before its Joint Committee on Investment & Concession and Transport to address mounting concerns raised by aggrieved workers within the ministry.
In recent weeks, several employees have voiced frustration over alleged irregularities in the ministry’s operations, prompting public appeals for government intervention.
A letter addressed to Minister of Transport, Sirleaf Tyler and Aggrieved Workers — a copy of which is in the possession of this newspaper — reschedules the meeting to Thursday, July 31, 2025. The parties are expected to appear before the committee at 12 noon in the Speaker’s Conference Room at the Capitol Building.
One of the key items on the agenda is the discussion of a controversial concession agreement entered into between the Ministry of Transport and the Liberia Traffic Management. The terms and transparency of the agreement have come under serious public scrutiny and condemnation, with lawmakers aiming to clarify its implications for public service delivery and accountability.
The outcome of Thursday’s session is expected to influence potential legislative action and could signal broader reform within the transport sector.
