Margibi, May 1, 2025 — Human Aid International (HAI), also known as the Hilter Foundation, has announced a major leadership change as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen operations and impact. On Thursday, May 1, 2025, the organization officially named Mr. Emmanuel Konoe as its new Executive Director, succeeding outgoing Executive Director Atty. Amb. Emmanuel Hilter.

The transition was confirmed following what officials described as “careful consideration of the organization’s needs and future direction.” Mr. Konoe, a seasoned development professional with more than 20 years of experience in the NGO sector, is widely respected for his work in humanitarian leadership and institutional development.

Officials and staff of HAI expressed deep appreciation to Amb. Hilter for his notable contributions during his tenure, crediting his leadership with significant advancements in humanitarian outreach, social justice initiatives, and support for vulnerable populations across Liberia.

“Under Atty. Amb. Hilter’s stewardship, Human Aid International has grown tremendously, both in reach and impact,” the organization said in a statement. “We are grateful for his service and continued commitment.”

Outgoing Executive Director Atty. Amb. Emmanuel Hilter, who has over 15 years of impactful service in humanitarian work and advocacy, will remain with the organization in his role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and will also continue to serve on the Board of Directors.

Meanwhile, Mr. Konoe takes over as Executive Director with immediate effect and is expected to bring new energy and strategic direction to the organization.

Officials within the organization report a growing interest from partners and collaborators eager to work under Konoe’s administration, noting his reputation for inclusive leadership and operational efficiency.

HAI confirmed that Mr. Konoe will work in close alignment with the entire leadership team, including the Board, to further the group’s mission of promoting equality, social justice, and sustainable development.

Human Aid International is a non-profit, non-governmental organization registered with the Government of Liberia. It remains dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance and advocacy for underserved communities. The leadership transition is intended to ensure continuity and strengthen the organization’s long-term vision.
