Nearly a year after his suspension from office, former Liberia Immigration Services (LIS) Commissioner Steve Zargo is finally speaking out, signaling the end of what he describes as a long, painful period of silence and uncertainty.
“I am tired of waiting without answers. I am tired of being meek and disregarded. I am tired of sitting idled while people misinterpret my suspension. I am tired of being sacrificed for tradition,” Zargo said in a bold public statement ahead of a much-anticipated media appearance today.
Zargo, a prominent figure in Liberia’s security sector and a former Senator, was suspended late 2024 by President Joseph Nyumah Boakai, who he notably referred to as his “uncle.”
However, despite the prolonged suspension, Zargo says he never received a formal letter of dismissal. In the meantime, the position he once occupied has already been filled, prompting growing speculation and controversy.
Now, Zargo says the time for silence is over.
“The honeymoon is over,” he declared.
The former LIS boss is scheduled to address the public in an exclusive radio appearance on “Let’s Talk-So and Talk-So,” airing Monday, July 28, 2025, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Radio Wologizi FM 87.9. The program will also stream live on the station’s Facebook page and affiliated platforms.
“It’s time to speak and move on,” Zargo said, urging the public to tune in. “Join me tomorrow night.”
Zargo’s upcoming appearance is expected to draw national attention as many await answers regarding his suspension, alleged internal rifts within the administration, and his next political or professional move.
