Former Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Isaac Doe, has reportedly left the country amid allegations that he owes a businessman also believed to be a staunch member of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), Pello King, the sum of US$1,225.
Verity News just obtained pictorials of Mr. Doe at the Roberts International Airport trying to leave the country, hours after Pello King posted on his social media page, threatening to get him.
The controversy began on September 5, 2025 when Pello King took to his Facebook page accusing the former government official of refusing to settle a longstanding debt. In his post, King wrote:
“Isaac Doe, US$1,225.00 is a small money as you called it. Please pay my business money. It been 5 months now. U not picking my calls, texts.”
Moments after hearing that Doe has arrived in Liberia from the United States, Pello King posted again on his Facebook page:
“Isaac Doe, you not answering my calls again. Nobody will talk to me on Saturday ooo, the 18th.”
The post, which quickly went viral on social media, sparked mixed reactions among Liberians, with some defending Doe while others criticized him for what they called “dishonest behavior” and a “bad debtor”.
Interestingly, Isaac Doe who had returned from the United States to attend the groundbreaking ceremony of his party’s new headquarters scheduled for Saturday, October 18, was spotted at the Roberts International Airport (RIA) on Tuesday afternoon, boarding a flight reportedly heading back to the United States.
Credible Sources at the RIA confirmed to Verity that Doe departed on Flight P4-7537 through Air Peace, raising questions about whether his sudden departure was connected to the ongoing public accusation.
Despite multiple attempts by this news outlet to reach Doe via WhatsApp and messenger phone calls, all efforts proved futile as his numbers went unanswered.
As of press time, Doe has not issued any public statement addressing the claim or clarifying the reason behind his abrupt travel.
