The Jackson F. Doe Memorial Regional Referral Hospital in Nimba has received a major boost to its medical resources following a significant donation of essential supplies and equipment from the Korle-Bu Neuroscience Foundation (KBNF), a Canadian-based charity committed to advancing healthcare in Africa.
The consignment, which includes a large quantity of vital medications, is expected to strengthen the hospital’s ability to provide quality, life-saving care.
Among the items donated are 120 cartons of medicines designated for infants and young children-a contribution that hospital officials say will greatly ease the burden on mothers and families who depend on its pediatric services.
In a related gesture, the humanitarian organization Direct Relief provided eight state-of-the-art medical refrigerators to the facility. The new equipment will enhance the storage and preservation of critical medicines and vaccines, improving the hospital’s overall service delivery capacity.
Dr. Victor Kaizer, CEO of the Jackson F. Doe Memorial Regional Referral Hospital, expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the institution.
“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Korle-Bu Neuroscience Foundation and Direct Relief for their unwavering commitment to improving healthcare in Liberia,” Dr. Kaizer said. “These donations will go a long way in saving lives, particularly among vulnerable groups such as children and mothers.”
Dr. Kaizer also extended special thanks to Ms. Helen Suzzie Charles for her persistent advocacy and role in facilitating the partnership that made the donations possible.
He added that the hospital remains committed to seeking new partnerships and support to enhance healthcare delivery for the people of Liberia.
Located in Tappita, Nimba County, the Jackson F. Doe Memorial Regional Referral Hospital continues to serve as a leading center for medical care in northeastern Liberia, offering specialized services and critical healthcare support to thousands of patients from across the nation.
