Judge Willie Expected to Rule Against Defense in Trial Motion, Court Sources Hinted Verity

Monrovia, Liberia ~ The Capitol Building Arson case may be moving to full trial, as unconfirmed reports from within Criminal Court “A” suggest that Judge Roosevelt Z. Willie is poised to rule against former House Speaker J. Fonati Koffa and his co-defendants.

According to sources close to the proceedings, the court is expected to deny a key pre-trial motion filed by the defense to suppress evidence. If confirmed, the decision would clear the way for the case to proceed to trial, intensifying legal pressure on the accused, including Koffa, former Speaker and Representative of Grand Kru District #2.

The defense had previously filed a 32-count motion challenging the admissibility of evidence on constitutional grounds, citing alleged unlawful searches and due process violations. A ruling against the motion would be a major win for the prosecution, strengthening its case moving forward.

Court officials have not publicly commented on the anticipated ruling, and no formal decision has yet been released. However, legal observers say a move to trial now appears imminent.
