Kolahun District Sisters Association Boosts Education with Donation to Local School

By Morlu F. Freeman Sr.

The Kolahun District Sisters Association has made a donation of footwear to teachers and learning materials to pupils of Kolahahun Elementary Public School in Kolba City, Kolahun District, Lofa County, as part of efforts to support education in the area.

The initiative was intended to recognize the dedication of teachers while also encouraging students to remain focused on their academic work.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, the Association’s President, Mrs. M. Suzie Kamara Palay, said the donation reflects the group’s continued commitment to education and community development within the district.

“This gesture is our way of appreciating the teachers for their invaluable services and motivating our children to take their education seriously,” Mrs. Kamara Palay said.

She emphasized that the initiative is not a one-off effort, noting that the Association has a long history of supporting schools and traditional midwives across Kolahun District.

“This is something we do every year. We identify schools and traditional midwives and support them in our own small way,” she added.

Administrators and teachers of Kolahun Elementary Public School expressed appreciation for the timely donation, describing it as a boost to staff morale and a positive contribution to student learning.

The Kolahun District Sisters Association remains actively engaged in community service, with education continuing to be one of its core focus areas.
