The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, brought in Madam Sonita Dangan, Head of Instruction and Curriculum at the Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS), after she failed to comply with a formal invitation to appear before the Commission.
According to an official statement issued by the LACC, Madam Dangan had been summoned to provide information as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of financial malpractice, official corruption, and the misapplication of entrusted property within the MCSS.

Despite receiving a written invitation, Madam Dangan reportedly did not respond or appear as requested. The LACC stated that after exhausting all avenues for voluntary cooperation, it was compelled to take legal action to ensure her presence for questioning.
The Commission noted that her testimony is critical to the progress of the investigation, which centers on the management of public resources in Liberia’s educational system.
“The action taken was in full accordance with the law,” the Commission stated, emphasizing that the measure was necessary to advance the probe. “We remain committed to upholding due process, transparency, and fairness. All individuals involved will be accorded their full legal rights.”
The LACC reaffirms its commitment to pursue all leads to ensure accountability in the use of public funds.
