LACC Validates Five-Year Strategic Plan with UNDP Support

The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) has officially validated its Five-Year Strategic Plan from (2026-2030) with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The validation ceremony took place on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, bringing together LACC Commissioners and staff, donor partners, civil society organizations, integrity institutions, and key governance stakeholders.

The comprehensive plan outlines a robust framework for LACC’s operations over the next five years, centered on four strategic pillars: prevention, enforcement, partnerships, and institutional strengthening.

It is designed to enhance the Commission’s effectiveness in promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance across Liberia’s public sector.

Speaking during the ceremony, LACC Executive Chairperson Cllr. Alexandra K. Zoe described the Strategic Plan as a critical tool in shaping Liberia’s anti-corruption landscape.

This plan reaffirms our collective commitment to building a corruption-free society. It is not just a roadmap for the Commission but a call to action for all stakeholders-government, civil society, and the public-to unite in this fight,” she said.

Representatives from UNDP and other development partners emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration and long-term investment in anti-corruption efforts.

They commended LACC’s inclusive and participatory approach to developing the strategy, which incorporated insights from a wide range of actors, including grassroots organizations and accountability institutions.

Key speakers at the event reiterated that fighting corruption requires more than enforcement-it demands a culture of integrity supported by strong institutions, public trust, and civic engagement.

The plan’s focus on partnerships reflects the growing recognition that no single entity can address corruption alone.

The validation of the Strategic Plan marks a significant milestone for LACC as it seeks to build momentum for reform, strengthen public confidence, and deliver on its mandate more effectively.

Implementation of the plan is expected to begin in January 2026, with periodic reviews to ensure measurable progress and adaptability to emerging challenges.
