Lawmaker Alex Noah Accused of Power Abuse; Pastor says He was Humiliated

By Archie Boan

The Chairman of the AB Tolbert Road Community, Pastor Paul T. Kollie, has accused Rep. Alex Noah of abusing his power to publicly detain and humiliate him.

According to Pastor Kollie, the incident occurred on March 6 while he was carrying out community-related duties. He alleged that his vehicle was forcibly stopped by individuals identified as staff members from Representative Noah’s office, who claimed the car matched a vehicle reported missing by the lawmaker.

Pastor Kollie said he was publicly accused and subsequently escorted to a police depot following instructions allegedly given by Representative Noah.

He stated that he fully cooperated with authorities and presented original documents proving legal ownership of the vehicle.

After verification, police reportedly confirmed that the documents were authentic and that the vehicle did not correspond with the one reportedly missing by the representative.

Despite the clarification by police, Pastor Kollie said no public apology has been issued by Representative Noah regarding the incident, which he described as embarrassing and damaging to his reputation.

When contacted by Verity News through his official WhatsApp account, Representative Noah reportedly declined to comment on the matter, stating that Pastor Kollie “can go ahead and do whatsoever.”

Pastor Kollie has since called for a public apology and said he reserves the right to pursue legal action if the matter is not addressed.

He also emphasized that public officials have a responsibility to respect the rights and dignity of citizens and to ensure that disputes are handled through proper legal procedures.
