LDEA Chief Vows to Crush Drug Traffickers

By D Abraham Cooper Sr

Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County — The Commander of the Grand Gedeh detachment of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), Colonel Robson Boakai, held a high-stakeholder, closed-door meeting with his officers this week, immediately following a massive raid against illegal drug traffickers in Zwedru. Commander Boakai Demands Professionalism and Zero Tolerance for drug trafficking, smuggling, and abuse.

Addressing ranking LDEA agents in Zwedru city, Colonel Boakai commended his men for the recent operation while emphasizing unwavering professionalism and a reinforced commitment to the drug war as he vowed to crush drug traffickers.

The Commander vowed to create no “closed intimacy” with drug traffickers—a blunt warning aimed at preventing the compromise of ongoing cases and ensuring internal accountability as he reechoed zero tolerance for Corruption and Interference.

In a directive aimed at insulating his officers from external pressure, Col. Boakai urged his men to work without fear of manipulation from any public officials who might seek to interfere with LDEA operations.

The Commander’s message was clear: The fight against illegal substances must be intensified, and internal corruption will not be tolerated.

He stressed that mitigating drug proliferation from the county hinges on the LDEA maintaining absolute integrity. The meeting signals a decisive move by the LDEA to crackdown on the drug trade in Grand Gedeh and push back against any attempts at political or monetary influence over their enforcement efforts.
