LDEA Forwards 32-Year-Old Drug Suspect to Court in Rivercess

Yarpah Town, Rivercess County – The Rivercess Detachment of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has forwarded to court a 32-year-old man, identified as Amos Jacob, for alleged possession of illegal drugs.

According to the LDEA, the suspect was arrested on January 17, 2026, at the Timbo Bridge Checkpoint while en route to Rivercess County. Officers of the agency reportedly conducted a routine search and discovered two plates of compressed marijuana in his possession.

Following his arrest, Amos Jacob was formally charged and forwarded to the Yarpah Town Magisterial Court to answer to the allegations. Authorities say the case forms part of ongoing efforts by the LDEA to clamp down on the trafficking and use of illicit drugs in the county.

Jacob is currently being held at the Cestos Central Prison, where he remains in custody pending his court appearance and trial.

The LDEA has meanwhile warned members of the public, especially young people, to desist from engaging in drug-related activities, stressing that the agency will continue to enforce the law without fear or favor.
