Pleebo, Maryland – [June 25, 2025] – The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) in Maryland County has announced the arrest of a narcotics suspect during a routine patrol in Pleebo over the weekend.
Alphonso H. Morgan, a 25-year-old Liberian, was apprehended by LDEA officers on Gbeken Street. The officers pursued him after observing suspicious activity in plain sight.
Upon his arrest, law enforcement discovered a significant amount of illegal drugs in Morgan’s possession, which included 1 kg of marijuana valued at US$100 (or LD$2,000), 7.5 grams of cocaine valued at US$3,375 (or LD$67,500), and a combination of Tramadol (250 mg) comprising six strips and three tablets, worth US$96 (or LD$19,200), as well as four pieces of Riza, among others.
Morgan is facing charges under new drug legislation, specifically Section 14.85, which addresses the unlicensed sale, transport, administration, dispensing, and delivery of controlled substances, and Section 14.89, pertaining to the unlicensed possession of controlled drugs.
His case has been sent to the Harper Majestrial Court for processing, where he is expected to face a swift trial.
The LDEA has reiterated its commitment to fighting drug-related offenses and encourages the public to stay alert and report any suspicious drug activities across the nation.
