In a major crackdown on illegal drug activities, the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) in Sinoe County has arrested a 35-year-old woman in possession of over 24 kilograms of marijuana during an early morning raid in Farmerville, Greenville.
The Friday, July 11 operation, which began around 6:30 a.m., was led by General Commander Milton K. Howard, who has been at the forefront of the agency’s aggressive fight against narcotics in the region. Since taking the helm, Commander Howard’s leadership has brought renewed energy to the agency, leading to multiple high-profile arrests and a significant drop in drug circulation throughout Sinoe.
Acting on a court-issued writ of search and seizure, LDEA officers stormed the residence of Teta Kollie, a Liberian woman originally from Montserrado County and a member of the Gola ethnic group. The raid led to the discovery of 24.326 kilograms of marijuana, with an estimated street value of $2,933 USD, or roughly 557,270 Liberian Dollars.
According to investigators, Kollie was read her Miranda rights and voluntarily confessed to owning the stash of illegal drugs. She has since been formally charged and forwarded to the Greenville Magisterial Court for prosecution.
Commander Howard, who took charge of the Sinoe County detachment with a mission to dismantle drug networks, has consistently emphasized a zero-tolerance stance on drug abuse and trafficking. Under his watch, the LDEA has seen growing public trust and an increase in successful operations.
While details remain limited due to the ongoing investigation, the LDEA has reassured citizens that it remains steadfast in rooting out illicit drug activities, not just in Greenville or Sinoe County, but throughout the nation.
This arrest adds to the growing list of LDEA victories under Commander Howard’s tenure, as the agency continues to tighten its grip on drug smugglers and peddlers, sending a clear message that the fight against narcotics in Liberia is far from over.
