LDEA Seizes Drugs Worth Over USD 40,000 in Monrovia

Monrovia – The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has announced the seizure of narcotic substances valued at more than USD 40,000 in Monrovia, in what authorities describe as a major success in the fight against drug trafficking.

The consignment, identified by officials as a substance known locally as Android Spark, was discovered along with over LRD 200,000, allegedly generated from sales conducted earlier the same day. Several suspects linked to the haul were arrested and are now in custody pending further investigation.

According to the LDEA, the operation is part of ongoing nationwide efforts to disrupt the supply chain of illicit drugs and protect vulnerable communities, particularly young people, from the harmful effects of substance abuse.

The LDEA remains committed to pursuing drug traffickers and ensuring that Liberia does not become a safe haven for the illegal drug trade,” an agency spokesperson said.

The agency has urged the public to support its work by reporting suspicious activities that may be tied to drug trafficking and abuse.
