Legal teams of Jubilee and Benita Urey complain LFA to FIFA

By Danesius Marteh

The legal teams of Jubilee FC and Shaita Angels President Benita Urey have submitted a joint complaint to football’s world governing body, Fifa.

In a letter signed by Atty. Joseph Howe and Cllr. Jimmy Bombo representing Jubilee and Benita on 27 January, a consolidated governance complaint was submitted to FIFA, with a copy provided to the Confederation of African Football (Caf).

The complaint addresses persistent documented violations of the LFA statutes, including interference with independent judicial bodies, denial of appeal rights and repeated executive overreach that undermines due process and the rule of law within football administration.

The complainants emphasize that they have consistently operated within the framework provided by the LFA Statutes.

Appeals were duly filed, fees paid, and jurisdiction properly invoked, resulting in lawful decisions by competent judicial bodies.

However, these processes have been frustrated by administrative obstruction, the non-implementation of binding decisions, and actions taken without legal authority.

While remaining committed to international football governance mechanisms, the complainants will not ignore the ongoing abuse of power or the disregard for statutory safeguards.

Any further interference, retaliation, or refusal to comply with lawful processes may necessitate the pursuit of additional legal remedies—including the invocation of national laws and the jurisdiction of competent courts—to protect their rights and institutional integrity.

This matter is not about match results or competition outcomes; it is about governance, accountability, and the rule of law.

No institution is above its own constitution, and no authority may override judicial independence through administrative action.

The complainants have placed their full confidence in Fifa and Caf to address these grave governance concerns.
