Doha, Qatar–The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the State of Qatar, H.E. Mr. Mohammed B.O.S. Kenneth, has formally presented his letters of credence to His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, during a ceremony held Wednesday, April 30, at the Amiri Diwan in Doha.
During the official presentation, Ambassador Kenneth conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Liberian President Joseph Nyuma Boakai to His Highness the Amir.
He expressed optimism that the long-standing and friendly relations between Liberia and Qatar would continue to flourish for the mutual benefit of both nations.
Ambassador Kenneth also briefed the Amir on President Boakai’s ambitious development agenda, highlighting key priority sectors including agriculture, infrastructure, education, and energy.
He emphasized Liberia’s keen interest in securing Qatari support and partnership to help drive the country’s socio-economic development efforts.
In response, Amir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani lauded Liberia’s progress in maintaining political stability following the end of its civil conflict in 2003 and praised the democratic governance that has characterized the country since 2005.
He affirmed that such stability positions Liberia well to pursue and achieve meaningful development goals.
The Amir encouraged the Liberian Government to submit detailed proposals outlining specific areas where Qatari assistance is needed. He assured that once received, the Qatari government would promptly review and act on them.
The high-level ceremony was attended by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Bin Jassim Al-Thani, along with other senior Qatari officials.
The credential presentation marks a renewed chapter in Liberia-Qatar relations, with both countries poised to explore deeper cooperation in economic development and bilateral engagement.
