The influx of Liberians seeking medical attention for eye complications continues to increase.
Health facilities, including hospitals, that provide medical services to address eye problems are being flooded with Liberians seeking such treatment.
This raises the need for research in health and environmental programs in Liberia to tackle this emerging problem.
The latest occurrence was when over one hundred (100) residents of Margibi County received free eye surgeries from Doctors of the John F. Kennedy Medical Hospital in collaboration with Jetty Rubber LLC.
The JFK Medical Center in Monrovia conducted an eye surgery program that affected over 100 Liberians in Weala and surrounding communities in Margibi County.
The doctors announced the completion of surgeries for over 121 patients, a significant number that is poised to gain attention in the health sector.
The surgeries resulted from an engagement by businessman Singh Sachdeva – Jeety with health practitioners at JFK.
According to our reporter, this process has affected over 300 individuals and was launched in September of this year.
While this was ongoing, there has been a rising demand for such services to be conducted.
Not only are citizens in that part of Liberia yearning for their eye problems to be resolved, but it is also becoming a program that is needed nationwide.
