Liberia National Police and AME University Sign MoU to Boost Law Enforcement Training

In a landmark move to strengthen national security and enhance law enforcement education, the Liberia National Police (LNP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU).

The agreement, formalized Tuesday, establishes a strategic partnership aimed at promoting smart policing and improving police effectiveness through modern training methods and capacity-building programs.

AMEU, recognized as one of the leading institutions in security and policing education, will collaborate closely with the LNP to develop specialized training programs tailored to the evolving needs of law enforcement in Liberia.

The MoU outlines key areas of cooperation, including:

* Police Training: Equipping officers with up-to-date skills and knowledge to handle contemporary security challenges.

* Capacity Building: Enhancing the operational efficiency and strategic capabilities of the police force.

In a statement, the President of AMEU reaffirmed the university’s dedication to public service and national development. “This collaboration will not only empower the police force with modern tools and knowledge but also reinforce Liberia’s commitment to improving internal security through innovation and expertise,” he said.

The President also extended appreciation to Inspector General Gregory Coleman and the entire LNP leadership for their proactive role in shaping a forward-thinking approach to public safety.

The partnership represents a major step forward in professionalizing law enforcement in Liberia and fostering a safer environment for all citizens.
