Liberia–Saudi Relations Strengthened as Consuls General Meet in New York

Professor Thomas Kaydor, Jr., PhD., Consul General of the Republic of Liberia near New York, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Abdullah Alhamdan, Consul General of the Royal Consulate General of Saudi Arabia near New York, in a move aimed at strengthening bilateral and diplomatic relations between the two countries.

During the visit, Professor Kaydor expressed gratitude and appreciation for the warm and courteous reception extended to him by his Saudi counterpart. He also conveyed the best wishes and kind sentiments of His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., President of the Republic of Liberia, to the Government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Discussions between the two diplomats focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of economic, commercial, and diplomatic engagement. Both parties emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration in promoting mutual interests and shared development goals.

Professor Kaydor thanked the Government and people of Saudi Arabia for their long-standing support to Liberia and expressed hope for increased Saudi assistance in support of Liberia’s ARREST Agenda under the leadership of President Boakai.

He further highlighted the potential for expanded Saudi investment in Liberia, noting opportunities to deepen economic, trade, and commercial partnerships that would benefit both nations.

Professor Kaydor expressed optimism that enhanced Saudi engagement would help consolidate Liberia’s development efforts and strengthen long-term cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, H.E. Abdullah Alhamdan welcomed the visit and reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s interest in fostering stronger relations with Liberia.

Both Consuls General agreed on the need to improve bilateral ties and enhance diplomatic engagement between their respective countries.

They also discussed the importance of Saudi Arabia establishing diplomatic representation near Monrovia, in the spirit of diplomatic reciprocity.

The meeting underscored the shared commitment of Liberia and Saudi Arabia to advancing mutual cooperation and deepening diplomatic relations for the benefit of their peoples.
