Liberia Welcomes Four New Ambassadors

In a solemn diplomatic ceremony Wednesday at the Executive Mansion, four newly designated ambassadors formally presented their Letters of Credence to President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.

The credential presentations, a customary diplomatic procedure that signifies the recognition of envoys by the host nation, took place in the parlors of the Executive Mansion on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

His Excellency Bambang Suharto, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia

His Excellency Martin Podstavek, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic

President Boakai welcomed the envoys on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, emphasizing the importance of strong bilateral relations grounded in mutual respect, shared values, and a collective pursuit of peace, development, and international cooperation.

In his remarks, Ambassador Gakosso reaffirmed the Republic of Congo’s commitment to strengthening economic and diplomatic ties with Liberia, particularly in trade, investment, and collaborative development efforts.

Ambassador Castelar Padilla highlighted Venezuela’s interest in expanding cooperation in strategic areas including energy, agriculture, health, education, and cultural exchange, and pledged close collaboration to support sustainable development initiatives benefiting both nations.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Suharto underscored Indonesia’s readiness to partner with Liberia in key sectors such as palm oil production, infrastructure, and technical training programs, as well as scholarship opportunities aimed at enhancing skills and fostering long-term cooperation.

Ambassador Podstavek of the Slovak Republic expressed his government’s interest in reinforcing diplomatic relations with Liberia through enhanced collaboration in trade, investment, tourism, and cultural exchange to promote mutual economic growth.

President Boakai assured the diplomats of Liberia’s full support as they undertake their duties, expressing confidence that their respective tenures will deepen diplomatic engagement and expand cooperation across trade, investment, education, and security.

The President also extended his best wishes for continued progress and prosperity to each of the nations represented, reaffirming Liberia’s commitment to constructive international partnerships and active participation in the global community.

The diplomatic ceremony underscores Liberia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen foreign relations and engage more robustly with the international community.
