The Liberian Community in Rwanda (LIBCOR) is gearing up for a momentous occasion as it prepares to host the inauguration of its 3rd National Administrative Council (NAC) on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place in Nyanza, Southern Province, under the unifying theme: “Unifying a Community, Beginning Dreams, Leading Change.”
The event promises to be more than just a formal induction. It is expected to serve as a vibrant celebration of Liberian identity, unity, and collective aspiration within Rwanda.
LIBCOR, a growing and dynamic diaspora organization, has been a cornerstone of cultural preservation, social development, and mutual support among Liberians living in Rwanda.
With each transition of leadership, the organization continues to strengthen its mission and broaden its reach.
The newly elected officials set to take office include:
James Edgar Denia, Chairman-elect
Seleké Kromah, Vice Chairman for Administration-elect
Winston W. Cooper, Vice Chairman for Inter-Agency Affairs-elect
Bill Yelegar, Secretary-elect
Micah B. Perry, Assistant Secretary-elect
Franklin E. Zeah, Financial Secretary-elect
Paulmai Zonan, Treasurer-elect
These individuals, drawn from various walks of life, have pledged their commitment to fostering community engagement, promoting transparency, and advancing the welfare of Liberians in Rwanda.
LIBCOR has extended an open invitation to all community members, regional partners, and well-wishers to attend the inauguration.
A release quoted the organizers as saying the event will highlight the strength of diaspora collaboration and serve as a platform for renewed commitment to service and solidarity.
“This is not just about welcoming new leaders,” said a member of the planning committee. “It’s about rallying together as a community to dream bigger and to take actionable steps toward a brighter future for all.”
As LIBCOR enters a new chapter, expectations are high that the incoming council will continue building on the foundations laid by its predecessors—championing unity, promoting development, and nurturing a strong sense of belonging among Liberians in Rwanda.
