A three-member delegation from the Liberian House of Representatives is currently participating in the 83rd Session of the Executive Committee of the African Parliamentary Union (APU), taking place in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco, from May 21 to 22, 2025.
The delegation, representing Liberia at the high-level meeting, includes Hon. Prince Toles of Montserrado County Electoral District #8, Hon. Marie Johnson of Grand Gedeh County Electoral District #2, and Hon. Isaac Bannie of Grand Bassa County Electoral District #1.
The session is being held under the leadership of His Excellency Ali Kolotou TCHAIMI, Speaker of the Parliament of Chad and current President of the APU. The Executive Committee is composed of three elected members from each National Parliamentary Group and serves as a platform for dialogue on democratic governance, peacebuilding, inter-parliamentary cooperation, and the strengthening of legislative institutions across Africa.
Established in 1976 and headquartered in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, the African Parliamentary Union is a continental body dedicated to promoting representative governance and fostering collaboration among member parliaments.
The Liberian delegation’s participation underscores the country’s ongoing commitment to regional parliamentary engagement and its support for shared African legislative principles and diplomatic cooperation.
