Liberian Rapper Queen “V” Seeks Justice After Alleged War-Time Killing Confession by Economist Samuel Jackson

Monrovia, Liberia — Liberian Hipco Rapper Avenette Tennema Sirleaf, popularly known as Queen V, has vowed to pursue justice after Liberian economist Samuel Jackson allegedly confessed during a Facebook Live broadcast that he killed her father during Liberia’s civil war.

In the video circulating on social media on March 13, Jackson appeared to make a shocking statement referencing Sirleaf’s family. “Look at this other one here. This piece of sh**t. His pa da Sirleaf. We killed his father during the war,” Jackson said during the livestream.

The remarks reportedly stunned members of the Sirleaf family and triggered widespread reactions online.

Responding a day later, Queen V said the alleged confession could finally bring answers about the death of her father, Mr. Sirleaf, who was killed more than four decades ago during the conflict. “Your confession to killing my father on your Facebook Live is the best thing that happened after 41 years,” she said in a statement on March 14.

The artist said she intends to seek justice and accountability for her father’s death, describing Jackson’s alleged admission as a possible breakthrough in a long-standing family tragedy.

The development has also intensified public scrutiny around Jackson, who is already undergoing preliminary police investigation as a person of interest in connection with the death of his wife, Toni Jackson.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether Jackson’s remarks will form part of any formal investigation into events dating back to Liberia’s civil war.

Observers say the situation could reopen painful wartime questions and potentially expose long-hidden allegations tied to the country’s years of conflict.

For now, Queen V says she remains determined to pursue accountability. “This is about justice for my father,” she said.

As it stands, Mr. Jackson has been invited by the Liberia National Police to answer questions regarding his wife’s death
