By:  Emmanuel M. Kangar, Jr.

Monrovia, Liberia – Around 300 senior high school students in Liberia have successfully completed a free, month-long intensive preparatory program ahead of the upcoming West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), organized and financed by the Martin K. N. Kollie Foundation (MKNK-F).

The program, which began on April 12, 2025, concluded on May 10 with a mini celebration attended by students, facilitators, and coordinators.

It aimed to boost student performance across all nine WASSCE subjects, offering academic reinforcement and confidence-building ahead of the national exams scheduled to begin on Thursday, May 15.

In a press release, MKNK-F CEO Martin K. N. Kollie said participants reported notable improvement in their academic preparedness.

The initiative was led by over 10 volunteer instructors with subject-matter expertise in WASSCE curriculum areas. Each facilitator received a certificate of appreciation in recognition of their service.

Beyond classroom support, the Foundation also provided daily meals to participating students throughout the duration of the program.

MKNK-F emphasized its broader mission to advance education and promote social change in Liberia, announcing plans to expand the initiative beyond Montserrado County in the coming years.

Martin K. N. Kollie, an exiled Liberian activist and founder of the Foundation, reaffirmed his dedication to community empowerment through both advocacy and hands-on intervention. He extended best wishes to all Liberian students as they prepare to sit their exams.

The MKNK-F preparatory program is being widely praised as a timely and impactful educational support initiative, especially for students with limited access to academic resources.
