A Liberian woman who purchased a bag of American parboiled rice for US$85 at a local store in Fiamah, Royal Dad Enterprise, has claimed that the rice is rotten. Ms. Jamesetta Flomo Bartee has vowed to file a formal complaint to the Ministry of Commerce against the rice store and its owner.
“I bought the rice on Thursday around 6:30pm. When I carried the rice home, it was late to check it. I decided to cook the rice. The smell alone was too much. The rice is rotten. I called them the next day and told them that the rice spoiled. He told me that he was going to meet his manager and later get back. The rice has no expiration date. I bought the rice US$85. The government has to get involved. I am taking my complaint to the Commerce Ministry. This is what bringing a lot of sicknesses,” Jamesetta Bartee told newsmen.
When asked for reaction, the caretaker of the rice store claimed that he is not the owner of the store and could not provide detailed response or explanation to the allegation made by Jamesetta Bartee. “You should wait for the owner of the store, because the information provided is misleading,” the caretake asserted.
This is a developing story.
