Congo Town, Monrovia: — His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., on Saturday, April 10, 2026, commissioned the newly constructed Monrovia Super Mall in Congo Town, describing it as a that bold statement on Liberia’s economic future which signals a decisive shift toward modern infrastructure, quality investment, and national renewal.
Dedicating the Mall, President Boakai described the undertaking as more than a mere commercial development, but one that stands as a turning point in Liberia’s pursuit of economic transformation.
He stressed that the Mall represents a deliberate move toward job creation, local enterprise development, and the provision of modern urban amenities capable of meeting international standards.
The President asserted that there is a growing national demand for durable, world-class infrastructure that reflects the dignity and aspirations of the Liberian people. He pointed out, “Liberians are people of quality. We are tired of building material stores.”
The Liberian Leader lauded the Mall’s developers for investing in a project that aligns with this vision and sets a new benchmark for commercial excellence in the country.
President Boakai further noted that the facility symbolizes Liberia’s readiness to attract meaningful investments that generate employment and stimulate sustained economic growth.
He urged Liberians to take advantage of emerging opportunities, assuring that the Government remains committed to ensuring reliable electricity, a secure environment, and a business climate that rewards innovation and hard work.
Also speaking at the event, Chinese Ambassador accredited to Monrovia, Ambassador Yin Chengwu congratulated the Government and people of Liberia on the successful commissioning of the mall. He commended President Boakai’s leadership for strengthening bilateral cooperation and fostering partnerships that benefit the Liberian people.
Ambassador Yin described the project as a testament to the enduring relationship between Liberia and China, expressing optimism that the next five years will usher in expanded development initiatives grounded in mutual respect, development, and the rule of law. He concluded that China and Liberia are good friends and good partners.”
