A two-hour high-level session between Army Chief of Staff Major General Davidson Fayiah Forleh of Liberia and Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Ibrahima Sory Bangoura of Guinea has largely been termed ‘productive and a step aimed at de-escalation’.
The meeting, held on March 14, 2026, was geared towards finding solution to ongoing territorial tensions through diplomacy and de-escalation.
Following his diplomatic engagement at the Headquarters of the Chief of Defense Staff of Guinea located at Camp Almamy Samory Touré in Conakry, Major General Forleh reassured Liberians of calm, peace, and stability.
The Liberian Chief of Defense Staff said, “The Armed Forces of Liberia is a force for good,” while stressing the AFL’s commitment to peace, stability, and security cooperation in the region.
