Monrovia, Liberia — The Liberia National Police (LNP) has announced temporary traffic changes scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2025, to accommodate the Unity Party’s Homecoming and Groundbreaking Ceremony at the party’s headquarters in Monrovia. The measures aim to maintain public safety and reduce congestion during the event, which is expected to draw significant attendance.
According to the LNP, vehicles traveling from Central Monrovia will be diverted through the Congo Town back road for the duration of the ceremony. However, motorists heading from Paynesville toward Central Monrovia will continue along the regular route without diversion. The temporary arrangements will take effect from 8:00 a.m. and remain in place until the evening.
The police also issued a reminder to operators of motorbikes and auto-rickshaws—commonly known as keh-keh—that existing restrictions in designated areas remain fully enforced. The LNP urged riders to comply with traffic regulations to avoid violations and ensure smooth mobility throughout the day.
In its announcement, the LNP apologized for any inconvenience the traffic changes may cause and assured the public that normal movement will resume immediately following the event. The police emphasized their commitment to professionalism, public service, and maintaining peace and order across the country.
The Unity Party has since set this day aside as an official date for its political gathering, encouraging supporters, sympathizers, and partisans to grace the occasion and support the party’s headquarters construction.
