Monrovia, Liberia ~ The Liberia National Police (LNP) has released a detailed report outlining major criminal cases and road accidents recorded across the country in recent months, spotlighting a disturbing range of offenses including rape, kidnapping, assault, and murder, as well as alarming traffic-related incidents.
Sexual Violence Cases on the Rise
Montserrado County:
Saah Thomas, also known as “Starboy,” has been formally charged with rape after allegedly assaulting a 5-year-old girl in the Perry Street Community on August 3. According to investigators, Thomas lured the child into his room and abused her. The charge is backed by a medical report and the suspect’s voluntary confession. He has since been forwarded to court.
Grand Cape Mount County:
Oldman Dougbah, 49, is facing rape charges after reportedly assaulting a 12-year-old girl on March 30 in Bamballah Town. The girl, who was selling pepper at the time, was tricked by Dougbah before being dragged into a room and assaulted. Dougbah fled the scene but was later apprehended. The case is supported by physical evidence and medical findings. He has been sent to court.
Other Criminal Offenses Reported
Criminal Coercion & Disorderly Conduct:
In Montserrado County, Lewis Karty was charged after posting threatening and defamatory messages about Monacan D. Wilson on social media on July 11. The police say the evidence includes digital content and a voluntary admission by the suspect. He is now facing court proceedings.
Kidnapping:
Two men, Hanggi Ishmeal Kamara and Alieu Pabia, have been charged in connection with the disappearance of Jebah Kermokai on July 14 in Grand Cape Mount County. Kamara was last seen traveling with the victim, while Pabia provided false information about Kermokai’s whereabouts. Both suspects reportedly admitted to being with Kermokai at different times. The case has been sent to court.
Illegal Possession of Firearm:
Amara J. Musa, 39, was arrested in Parker Corner, Brewerville, after being found with a single-barrel shotgun on March 2. Musa is being prosecuted based on physical evidence and investigative findings.
Aggravated Assault & Theft:
In the Lakpazee community of Sinkor, Montserrado County, Butu Kiadii, 30, was charged after assaulting Moses Tokpah and attempting to steal items from his tailor shop on July 30. Tokpah suffered an eye injury after being hit with a stick. Kiadii was charged under Sections 14.20 and 15.51 of the Revised Penal Law and has been forwarded to court.
Mob Justice Incident Leads to Murder Charge
Montserrado County:
Two suspects, Vamuyah Sirleaf and Alieu Sirleaf, are under investigation for the alleged mob killing of Diayah Rennie on August 3 in the Chicken Farm Community, Paynesville. Rennie was accused of stealing a phone and beaten by the suspects and others. He died shortly after being rushed to ELWA Hospital. His body is at the JFK Mortuary, and police say suspects are in custody pending trial.
LNP Releases July 2025 Accident Statistics
In a separate report, the LNP detailed 138 road accidents recorded nationwide in July 2025, highlighting the continued threat of road-related fatalities and injuries.
